Businesses except sole proprietorships must obtain a federal Employer Identification Number (EIN)
Employer Identification Number (EIN): All businesses (except sole proprietorships that have no employees and do not make tax-exempt purchases) must obtain a federal Employer Identification Number (EIN), also called a Taxpayer Identification Number. (Your banker may require that you have an EIN even if you are a sole proprietor.) This number should be used when the business files its tax returns. For more information, see SS-4, Application for Employer Identification Number and Publication 1635, Understanding Your EIN.

Mississippi Business law governs and regulates how small and large businesses conduct their trade and handle their employees. Business laws also set standards of competition and other business matters.

According to the US Small Business Administration, 66% of Americans think small business exerts primarily a positive influence on the way things are going in the country today. American citizens typically believe that it is difficult for someone like themselves to start a successful small business, let alone start one and grow it into a large firm. This is not the case.
